JRNY UPDATE

April 17th, 2008

Good day,

We would like to take this opportunity to update you on the JRNY. In my last letter I explained what we found was a software problem, as well as a minor tooling modification. These modifications have been made. Let me stress again, if you don’t hear the update from us directly in our update letters, then whatever information you are hearing is simply an assumption and nothing more.

We have received the revised samples with the software changes, as well as the mechanical modifications. Our testing is now completed and the JRNY is now approved. The software bugs were very minor and it was an easy correction, as well as the minor tooling modification we made.

Moving forward, as I said earlier, the samples are approved and are performing to our expectations. We will go into a pilot production run. These units, after being tested here, will go to our Pro and Semi Pro teams only. Once they are field tested by these teams and used, we will then go into mass production and deliver the JRNY to the marketplace. We will be shooting a video of the JRNY and uploading it to You Tube as well as a link from the JRNY website. Please understand we do not want give a date; only because if we do, and then miss that date, your assumptions will start all over again. It will be out on the market sooner than later. Thank you and have a nice day.

Best Regards,
John Bosch

JRNY News

March 21st, 2008

To all customers:

I hope you are all well.  It has been a while since our last update and we wanted to let everyone know what the latest update is on JRNY as well as a few other things happening here at NXe.

As I had mentioned during my last update we did find some software problems on the first shipment and rejected the entire shipment.  Let me stress to all of you the importance to NXe not only to build the best product in the industry but also to stand behind our products on the good days as well as the bad days.  In business we all have good days and bad.  The difference between NXe and most companies is that more companies will ship the bad and the leave their dealers and consumers to have to deal with the problems and send product back to be repaired or replaced.  NXe was not built on this mindset.  NXe was built on the mindset that our customers, whether dealers or consumers will be satisfied that the product they have purchased.  That satisfaction transcends across the quality of the product, the complete satisfaction that the product you purchased was a fair and good value for your hard earned money.  That every customer whether big or small is treated with the respect and is appreciated for their support of NXe.  Should a customer have a problem with any of our products we will stand behind them and they will be treated the same exact way we too want to be treated as consumers and customers.  This is not a promise, but rather a commitment from each and every member of the NXe team.

In regards to the JRNY we have been working very hard to correct the problem we have found.  All of our test data and corrective action reports have been sent to our Hong Kong office as well as late night conference calls so the entire team can get on the phone and discuss our findings with theirs.  Our team of engineers has been working on not only fixing the problems, but also on other product enhancements that we felt would better the product.  In saying that we have decided to make some mechanical modifications which are in progress as we speak.  We are scheduled to be testing the first modified samples in the next few weeks and will keep you posted.

We have seen some of the comments and remarks on the web sites.  The “my local store told me.”  Let me put that to rest.  We have not given any information to the market at all since our last update and that includes the dealers and the consumers.  Unless you hear from NXe directly it is just rumor and has no legs to the story you may be hearing.

Let me stress that although many of you are upset with the delay and we understand that, from our side we too are not happy about this.  We have lost a fair amount of revenue and profits because of this delay.  As I said earlier it is not easy to get the NXe brand put onto a product unless it meets and exceeds our fundamental beliefs as a company.  That is why we are NXe and no one else is.  Let me also say that we will not be selling the JRNY at Huntington Beach, it will not be ready.  On the initial launch when they do come in the JRNY will only be available at your local paintball shops and online retailers.  We will not offer the JRNY for sale through the NXe website for a minimum of 60-90 days.  The decision was made by our sales team.  We all know that many companies in the industry are having a hard time and many shops are hurting.  This allows us to fully support our dealers and to let them make all of the profits for their stores and businesses.  I ask all of you to support our local shops.  They need your support more now than ever.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.  We hope to see all of you at Huntington Beach next week.

Thanks,

John Bosch

JRNY RELEASE DELAYED

February 11th, 2008

To all of our valued customers,

As you know, we have all been waiting, both patiently, and impatiently, for the JRNY to be launched. At the same time, our business philosophy has always been to build the best product on the market, and to always treat our customers and consumers the same way we want to be treated. This mindset has been one of the cornerstones in building NXe into the premier brand within our industry. This is a not a concept, but rather a commitment to you, as well as ourselves.

We received the first shipment of JRNY’s yesterday. As I said in my letter to all of the dealers earlier this week, we will receive the product in and do our own internal QC to ensure that the JRNY meets, and exceeds, our quality and performance standards; as well as yours. During our QC inspections here at our facility in Scottsdale, we found some problems with our software. Although our “golden samples” have passed every rigorous test we have put them through, we obviously had a problem during the production process. If this makes you unhappy, how do you think we feel? We have worked on this for over 2 years, and are committed to developing and manufacturing the best hopper on the market. So, this delay does not make me happy. On the other hand, unlike other manufacturers, who would ship and deal with the problems later, (which then becomes your problem), this is not an option we would ever consider.

Therefore, we have quarantined the first lot of production we received, and will not be shipping any product until the changes are implemented and the product meets our specifications, 100%. Only at that time, will it be ready to ship to you. Our colleagues in Asia are off on their New Year holiday. As soon as they return, we will address slight software changes, correct them, and proceed. Our US development team has already determined what the problem is and are preparing the testing results, as well as the corrective action necessary for the change, so our Asian team can review upon their return.

We do apologize for this delay, and under no circumstances will I try to make any excuses. I have pushed our team so hard to get this completed, and then pushed our production team to build and ship before the Chinese New Year holiday. I take full responsibility for this delay. I am upset; and the entire NXe team is as well. We are committed to bringing all of you the best this industry has to offer, and will never deviate from that commitment. As soon as we have corrected the problem, we will make an announcement as to when they will begin shipping.

My promise to all of you is this, the JRNY will be the best hopper bar none. Somethings we all just have to wait a little while for.

All the best,

John Bosch

PSP Mode Tip

February 4th, 2008

For best performance in PSP Mode, increase your marker’s ball in place delay (sometimes called loader delay). The JRNY adjusts the speed that it feeds based on how fast you are shooting. When you are using a mode like PSP, the hopper is not trying to feed 30 bps. This makes the hopper easier on paint and batteries. This also means that the force on the ball stack is not as high which makes the ball take more time to fully settle in the breach. When playing in a capped mode, increasing this setting will not have an effect on your rate of fire (relax you’ll still shoot 13.3 bps) but the combination of the JRNY and your gun will be much easier on paint.

Below you can find direct links to the instruction manuals for most marker manufacturers and board makers. You should consult your board’s instruction manual for detail on how to change this setting:
